How can we improve PlanbookEdu?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Be able to add items to dates that aren't on regular schedule

Days without regularly occurring courses such as Conference Day do not provide a way to add a meeting on that day..

  2. Love this website! Could it be set up so that a class repeats on days of the week instead of every five days, for instance?

Even though the event of the day repeats every 5 days, some weeks skip a day and the repetition is thrown off. I have Spanish every Tues. and Thurs. If I try to repeat the Tues class every 5 days, the first Monday we don't have school puts Spanish on Wed. because it's the 5th day since Tuesday. Clear as mud? Sorry. I know you'll figure it out. :-o)

It sounds like you have your rotation set to every 5 days. Instead set it to Weekly (which is the default). This will leave the plan on the same day of the week regardless of off days.

Click on “Planbooks” in your blue navigation bar, and then “Edit” by the planbook you are working on. You will see a section marked “Rotation”.

  3. Tabs for easy access to attachments

It would be great to add tabs that allow quick view to attachments

  5. I would like to see the date on the top of each page that I print. When I print multiple dates I need to go back and match the dates.

I would like to see the date on top of each page that is printed. When multiple pages are printed you need to go back and match the pages to the plan book page. If a date was printed on top of each page it would be so very helpful!

  7. Backward Bump

Just like we can bump plans, can we bring them all back a day?

  9. Print words that are highlighted

I have highlighted text in the lesson plan but when printing from the browser, the highlights don't show.

To fix that you need to turn on a setting in your browser before you print. The wording changes depending on your browser. It is usually a checkbox labeled “print background colors and images” in the print options.

  10. Summary of how many times you use a standard.

A feature that keeps track of how many times you use each standard would make it easier to see what standards you have hit that year and how often.

  11. It would be nice to be able to have a reoccuring activity/lesson/block of time and say to have it repeat on a specific day

Right now when I set up a block of time, I can set it to repeat every 5 days, that works if there aren't any holidays or days off. I would like to be able to set up a block of time to repeat on a specific day. For example my class has a block of time set for Library every Tuesday. I would like to be able to tell planbook to set that block of time for every Tuesday.

  12. Would like to see my planbook and my partner's collaborative planbook side by side

When my partner and I work on our books, we collaborate. It would be really nice if while I am doing my plans, or visa versa, we could see what the other has planned too.

  14. Being able to copy another teacher's calendar and then edit it as your own, but not change theirs.

In our clusters, we share work, so when one teacher has mapped out the semester for a course, it would be nice to be able to copy it and then make it your own and make adjustments.

  16. Add the dates to the printed lesson plans instead of just the day of the week.

I can't see a date anywhere on the printed lesson plans.

  18. notes

Teacher Notes or "Private" Notes. I share my plans but would love to have a section that does not show up when embedded on my website. I love that I can share my book, but would like the flexibility to make certain things private (such as when fire drills might be).

It’s still there. If the Sunday for “this week” isn’t part of your planbook it won’t appear. For example is your planbook start date is Tue, Sept 2nd the “this week” option won’t appear until the week of Sept 6th.
