Your email address is what you sign in with. Changing it takes a moment and doesn't affect your plans.
- Click the account button in the top right, then Account settings.
- Update your email address.
- Save.

From then on, sign in with the new address. This is the part people forget, and it looks exactly like a lost account.
Why teachers change it
Leaving a school. Move your account to a personal address before you lose access to the school one — otherwise password reset emails go somewhere you can't read. Do this before you leave, not after. See What happens to a teacher who leaves your group.
Your school signs up for a group account. If you already have a personal account, you can either have it merged into the school group, or change the address on it so the two stay separate. See Group accounts: how they work.
A new school address, after a name change or a district migration.
Your plans aren't affected
Changing the email changes the label on the account, not its contents. Every planbook, plan, attachment and Cubby item stays exactly as it is.
If you can't sign in to change it
You need to be signed in to update the address. If you're locked out because the old address is gone, reset your password first — see Sign in and reset your password.
If the reset email goes to an address you can no longer read, contact support from the address you can use, and tell us the old one.
Merging two accounts
If you've ended up with two accounts and want them combined, we can do that — email support with both addresses and say which should be kept.
