Attach from Google Drive

If your materials already live in Google Drive, you can attach them without downloading and re-uploading. PlanbookEdu links to the file in Drive.

First, link your Google account

You only do this once.

1. Click the account button in the top right, then Account settings.
2. Find the Google account row — it shows Not linked.
3. Click Link, and choose which Google account to use if you have several.

Once linked, that row shows the Google address instead, with an Unlink option if you ever need to disconnect it.

Pick carefully — link the account your teaching materials are actually in, which for many teachers is the school account rather than a personal one.

Attach a file

1. Click edit on the lesson box.
2. Click the Google Drive icon.
3. The first time, confirm your Google account and allow PlanbookEdu access to your Drive.
4. Select the file and click Select.
5. Save the plan.

Finding a file

If you can't spot what you want, type part of the filename into the search box in the Drive picker rather than scrolling.

Uploading straight to Drive

The picker has an Upload tab. Choose a file from your computer and it's uploaded to your Drive and attached to the plan in one step — useful for keeping everything in Drive rather than split between two places.

Drive links vs. uploaded copies

A Drive attachment is a link to the file in your Drive, not a copy.

• Edit the file in Drive and the plan points at the current version.
• Move, rename or delete it in Drive and the attachment can break.
• Whoever you share plans with needs permission in Drive to open it — check the file's Drive sharing settings, not just your PlanbookEdu share.
