You've colour-coded your week, and it prints in plain black and white. That's your browser, not PlanbookEdu.
Browsers don't print background colours and images by default — it saves ink, and most web pages don't need them. Your highlighting and box colours are backgrounds, so they're what gets dropped.
The fix
In the print dialog, turn on background graphics. The setting has different names depending on the browser:
- Chrome / Edge — open More settings in the print dialog and tick Background graphics
- Firefox — in the print dialog, tick Print backgrounds
- Safari — open the print dialog's detail view and tick Print backgrounds
Turn it on and your highlighting and box colours print as they appear on screen.
Or export a PDF instead
PDFs carry colour without any browser setting. From the print screen, choose PDF rather than Print — see Export to Word or PDF.
This is the more reliable route if you print regularly, or if you're sending plans to someone else to print — you can't rely on their browser settings.
If colour matters, check before you commit
Print one week and look at it before running off a term. Background printing is a per-browser setting, so it can be off again on a different computer or after a browser update.
Colour that only exists on screen is worth knowing about. If your colour-coding is doing real work for a substitute or an administrator, send a PDF or a share link rather than paper.
