PlanbookEdu works in the browser on a phone or tablet. Go to www.planbookedu.com in Safari, Chrome or whichever browser you use, and sign in as normal.
There's no app to install, and nothing extra to buy — it's the same account and the same plans.
Add it to your home screen
For something closer to an app, add PlanbookEdu to your device's home screen. It then opens in its own window, without browser chrome.
- iPhone / iPad (Safari) — tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen
- Android (Chrome) — tap the menu, then Add to Home screen
What works well on a small screen
Reading plans is the main one — checking tomorrow on the way in, or teaching from your tablet.
The daily view is much better than the weekly grid on a phone: one day fills the screen instead of squeezing a whole week across it.
Quick edits work fine. Longer writing, and anything involving dragging — the Cubby, moving days — is far easier with a mouse and a real screen.
A tablet is the sweet spot
An iPad or Android tablet in landscape handles the weekly view comfortably, and is genuinely usable for planning rather than just reading.
Plans for a substitute
Don't ask a substitute to sign in on their phone. Send them a link to the day, which opens in any browser without an account, or a PDF they can print.
If something doesn't work on your device, let support know — tell us the device and browser.
